Rasgulla or Rosogolla is an traditional tasty dessert popular in the Indian subcontinent and regions with South Asian diaspora. It is made from ball-shaped dumplings of chhena dough, cooked in light syrup made of sugar. This is done until the syrup permeates the dumplings.
The dessert is known as Rasagola in Odia, and Rosogolla or Roshogolla in Bengali. Rasgulla is derived from the words ras ("juice") and gulla ("ball").[9] Other names for the dish include Roshgulla (Sylheti), Rasagulla,[10] Rossogolla,[11] Roshogolla,[12] Rasagola,[13] Rasagolla,[14] and Rasbhari or Rasbari (Nepali).[15]
